Katherine Heigl’s project with NBC, ‘State of Affairs,’ didn’t do so well, getting canceled after the first season. However, she’s back with a new TV project, and it’s even a ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ reunion. Of sorts.

Katherine was cast in the CBS drama pilot ‘Doubt.’ She’s replacing KaDee Strickland (yes, the same one who was in another Shonda Rhimes show, ‘Private Practice’), who shot the original pilot, and her role is an interesting one: she plays an attorney named Sadie. Here’s how the character is described:
[Sadie is] a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets romantically involved with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.
Although CBS passed on the pilot, key characters are being recast to see if the pilot can be retooled, hence Katherine’s casting. So what makes it a ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ reunion?

The executive producers, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, worked on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ while Katherine was still on the show as well. I was kinda hoping Katherine’s BFF, T.R. Knight, who played George on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ was being cast. It would be fun to see those two together on the screen again. Oh well: since they’re recasting, it could still happen ;). ‘Orange is the New Black’ star Laverne Cox is also in the pilot. Hopefully we’ll get to see ‘Doubt’ on TV; it sounds interesting!
